New Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks from the Summer Chrome Collection

So last night I decided to treat myself to a few of the new Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks from his new Summer Chrome Collection from Beauty Bay. Was so excited for them to arrive this morning, as I got free Next  Day Delivery for spending over £40 (winner!). I chose the shades; Butt Naked, Candyass and Flamboyant, as I have nothing like these shades in my collection at the minute.

Left to Right; Butt Naked, Candyass and Flamboyant.

Here are the swatches I did with the shades. Butt Naked went on like a dream, this shade is very opaque and doesn’t require layering at all! It dried down super quickly as well. However, Candyass and Flamboyant took a lot of layering to reach full opacity. The 2 metallic shades in this collection (Candyass and Flamboyant) have a strawberry scent (almost smells like strawberry laces). With the Jeffree Star Liquid lipsticks, I do find that the metallic finishes are not as opaque as the others finishes and do require 2/3 layers. I have the shades Pussy Whipped and No Tea No Shade and find that these are very sheers well, as they have a metallic finish (No Tea, No Shade isn’t as sheer as the others as it is a darker shade, however, it does require a second layer). Even though both metallic shades are quite sheer, they are such beautiful colours when they reach full opacity! Flamboyant is my favorite shade, I’ll be definitely be taking it on holiday with me this weekend!

Butt Naked

Butt Naked is a warm peachy nude with a matte finish. This shade would look stunning on anyone who has very fair skin!

Applying this lipstick too A LOT of work. Even though this shade is super opaque, this shade was very streak, so therefore required to go over certain areas to smooth out the streaks. Other than that, this shade is BEAUTIFUL! Super natural, perfect for everyday makeup, and is so comfortable to wear, doesn’t feel dry at all!

Candyass is a coral pink shade that has a tone of gold reflex, with a metallic finish. I feel anyone could full with shade off, no matter what your skin tone is! This shade is definitely for everyone!

As I mention in the swatches, this shade is quite sheer, and therefor require at least 2-3 layers. This shade felt very comfortable on the lips and didn’t feel drying at all! Once the colour had been built up, I fell in LOVE! This shade would be perfect for any prom or bridal makeup to add a bit of sparkly to your look!

Flamboyant is bright metallic coral/red shade with chunky gold reflex. This colour definitely will make a statement! Would look stunning on darker skin tones, and anyone will a tan; perfect to take with you on holiday!

As I said before, the metallic shades are most definitely on the sheer side, but are VERY easy to build up. However, I did find this shade to be quite thick, gloopy and the chunky glitter made the lipstick feel a bit uncomfortable on the lips, in my opinion. Maybe if a lip balm was applied underneath the lipstick, it may make the lipstick feel a bit more comfortable. I will be sure to try this out and report back! Even though this shade has its bad points, it is a stunning colour, I absolutely LOVE the shade!

On 23rd June, my little sister had her prom and she asked me to do her makeup for her. She doesn’t usually wear makeup, so I went for a natural, light-medium coverage foundation and a really pretty, natural eye look with a hint of glitter; finishing the look with a pair of natural eyelashes, which she wasn’t used to wearing, but it really helped pull the look together! Can’t believe how gorgeous she looked, was very proud of her and how well her makeup turned out! ❤

NHS Training Day

On the 12th May, myself and other students from my college were chosen to go to Warwick Hospital to help the doctors train. To do this, we had to do SFX makeup on each other, simulating different injuries that could have been created from being in a coach crash. I decided to go for a 3rd degree burn chemical burn, created by spilled fuel from the coach. After we created out injuries, we went to A&E and the doctors at the unit then had to treat us in the way they would treat a real life patient if they were in this situation. This was such an amazing day and such a rewarding experience to have helps to doctors at Warwick out.

College Fashion Show

I’ve finally finished college! For our final assessments, we had to prepare three models to showcase at our end of year Fashion Show. The three looks I created were; Red Carpet Look, Fantasy, and Night at the Movies (Suicide Squad). It was such a long day, but all the work paid off and it was definitely worth the stress!

Deer LookThe antlers for this look were made by myself. I used chicken wire to create a hand band, filing all the sharp edges away. I then used chicken wire tubing and thick wire to create the shape of the antlers. Using a hot glue gun, I attached the antlers to the head band. After this was completed, I began to wrap the hair piece in blonde hair. For this I used strip hair extensions. I applied hot glue to the strip, placed the strip length ways on the wire tubing, and then began wrapping the piece, using glue to secure the ends of the hair. I used green wool, using the same technique, to cover the head band. This is because this material would make the head band feel more comfortable. To finish the head piece, I glues fake daisies to the structure and made toadstools from modeling clay to glue to the head band.
